Peru Utilities is seeking resumes for a full-time Apprentice Lineworker. Tasks involve construction and maintenance of overhead and underground electric distribution lines, transmission lines, working at heights, working in adverse weather conditions, repetitive lifting, and exposure to noise and potentially dangerous conditions.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have or be able to acquire a Class A CDL with air brake endorsement within 120 days of employment. Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, physical abilities to accomplish duties, and the ability to work as part of a crew.
The successful candidate will be on call to respond to emergency situations on a rotating basis and must reside within a 12-mile radius of the Peru Utilities service complex within 90 days of employment.
The position includes an excellent benefit package. The starting wage will be $26.24 for an apprentice position.
