Peru Utilities received a $63,000 grant from American Public Power Association Deed Program to produce a series of six safety videos aimed primarily at functions that municipal owned utilities perform. Peru Utilities was named Project Manager for the videos.

Each video had a target time of 20 minutes. Two of those films were filmed at the Peru Power Plant in regards to power plant safety and confined space entry with the Peru Fire Department providing rescue services.

APPA’s Public Power Rodeo

Peru Utilities competed in APPA’s Public Power Rodeo in 2001, 2002, and 2004. In 2002 Jeff Julian placed second on the written test and third overall in the apprentice category.
